Privacy policy for this website
This website is a set of plain pages.
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels.
- Our host (Cloudflare) processes the technical data needed to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks, such as your IP address, for a short time. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- If you write to us, we keep your message and address to answer you, and delete them within 12 months of the end of the conversation unless a contract follows.
Data of players on servers that use Ryft
Who is responsible
Each game server that uses Ryft is the controller of its players' data: it decides to protect its matches and informs its players. Ryft is its processor (GDPR, article 28): it processes that data on the server's behalf, only to detect cheating and ban evasion, under a data processing agreement. Ryft never uses it for itself or for another server.
What is processed
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier and name on the server | Know whose match it is | As long as the account exists on the server |
| Actions in matches checked by the server, and alerts | Detect cheating | 90 days, unless a sanction is in force |
| Code loaded into the game, game file fingerprints, known cheating tools open while playing | Detect a modified game or injected cheats | 90 days, unless a sanction is in force |
| Hardware fingerprints, stored as one-way codes | Stop banned players from coming back | 90 days after the last connection, or as long as a ban lasts |
| IP address | Security, ban evasion | 90 days |
| Sanctions (reason, author, dates) | Apply the sanction, handle appeals | As long as the sanction lasts |
Ryft never collects personal files, screenshots, the list of programs on a PC, or readable serial numbers.
Legal basis and decisions
The server relies on its legitimate interest in fair matches. A player may object; the server may then refuse online play, since the protection covers everyone in the match. Ryft takes no automated decision (GDPR, article 22): every sanction is decided by a member of the server's staff.
Who else handles it
Ryft uses IONOS (servers) and Cloudflare (network and protection). Cloudflare is a United States company; transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your data, restrict its use or object to it. Ask the server you play on first: it is responsible. You may also write to contact@ryft.ac and we will pass your request on and help the server answer. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your data protection authority; in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
